Homey Energy Dongle

The Homey Energy Dongle is designed for European smart meters and provides Homey with live energy data. It utilizes the ever-expanding P1 standard to monitor the electricity and gas usage of the smart meter. Simply plug the Homey Energy Dongle into the smart meter’s P1 port and connect it to Wi-Fi in the Homey mobile app. Next to reading energy data, the Homey Energy Dongle also includes a P1-passthrough. This allows the user to plug in another P1 device, like an EV charging point, load balancer or another dongle, without any hassle or extra cost. The Homey Energy Dongle can be powered through the P1 port on modern meters. For older P1 meters, or if passthrough is used, it can be powered over USB-C. A USB-A to USB-C cable is provided in the box to do so. It can be plugged into any USB-A port or power adapter to power the Homey Energy Dongle and possible passthrough device. The Homey app now has a brand-new Energy-tab to help you get the most out of the Homey Energy Dongle. It works with third-party energy dongles and meters as well. The tab features beautiful, easy-to-read charts, allowing users to monitor the home’s live energy usage and understand the smart meter’s readings. The new Energy-tab and the Homey Energy Dongle work with Homey Pro (Early 2023) and Homey Cloud. It works with PV solar installations through inverters or smart plugs, any power-measuring device in the home, and features support for dynamic tariffs as well (availability might differ per region). Support for EVs and Home batteries is planned soon after launch.
