Homey Pro mini is a compact smart home hub with a focus on privacy, stable operation and lightning-fast response. It controls and processes your devices locally in your home, so your setup continues to work even if your internet connection goes down. Although the platform primarily works locally, you still have access to necessary cloud features such as remote control, the Homey App Store and integration with voice assistants – and it all works without a subscription fee.

The device supports Zigbee, Ethernet, Matter and Thread directly. If you need even more technologies, you can add a Homey Bridge and open up Z-Wave, Bluetooth, 433 MHz and infrared, allowing you to connect over 50,000 devices from more than 1,000 well-known brands. Homey Pro mini contains the same powerful features as the rest of the Homey universe, including Homey Flow, Advanced Flow, energy monitoring, dashboards and Homey Insights, giving you a complete overview and flexible automation of your entire smart home. What are the differences between Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini?
Both Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini run the powerful Homey Pro OS without any artificial limitations between the two. Both Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini feature Matter, Zigbee and Thread. The differences are in the other (wireless) technologies and RAM memory: While Homey Pro mini has built-in Ethernet added to Matter, Zigbee and Thread, Homey Pro instead comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Z-Wave, 433MHz and Infrared added, and requires an Ethernet adapter for wired connectivity. Homey Pro mini can be extended with Homey Bridge to add Bluetooth, Z-Wave, 433MHz and Infrared connectivity. Homey Pro mini has 1GB RAM, which is sufficient for running between 20 and 25 apps. Homey Pro (Early 2023) has 2GB RAM, enabling customers to run many more apps comfortably. Lastly, Homey Pro mini has a different industrial design and a single RGB LED, whereas Homey Pro has a full RGB LED Ring.

Is Ethernet required for Homey Pro mini?
Yes, Ethernet is required to install and use Homey Pro mini since it doesn’t have onboard Wi-Fi. While Homey Pro mini has a gigabit ethernet port and comes with a gigabit Cat5e ethernet cable, a slower connection also works.

How many apps can I install on Homey Pro mini?
On average, a Homey Pro customer installs around 15 Homey Apps. Homey Pro mini has 1GB RAM, which allows it to run between 20 and 25 apps comfortably. Although more apps may be installed, Homey Pro mini might eventually run out of memory. This depends on the types of apps and their memory usage. As a rule of thumb, one app supports one brand of smart home devices. Customers who want to install more apps might want to consider purchasing Homey Pro.

Does Homey Pro mini have WiFi?
